Dear friends,
This letter brings my heartfelt wishes for a truly joyous holiday season and an abundant New Year for all of you. The Winter Solstice or Yule is one of the most important Celestial events of the year and it has always been a festival of lights. In ancient times, people knew that winter would be hard and so they found a way to feel hope in the period of dark. A Solstice represents significant shifts in the Earth’s energy, and when a Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse as it was on December 10th there are larger-than-usual effects that can last up to six months. It is a very auspicious time, especially because we are entering into 2012.
I read an excellent astrological essay by Terry Lamb informing us that with the Solstice following so close after the eclipse we are open to important consciousness shifts. We may feel clearer guidance and take bold action. In addition, we may increase our focus on reinventing ourselves or even change course as a direction we had been following suddenly doesn’t work anymore. Another possibility is that we will experience events that reveal our life’s purpose more clearly. For me, it was about renewing my vows.
For the two days surrounding the eclipse, I presented some of my deepest, heartfelt knowledge. My wonderful friend Robert, an award winning documentarian, had been filming me for a course I’m offering through Sex Coach University, an internet based educational institution. Part of the filming was a visit to the Goddess Studio. We walked the amazing Cretan labyrinth, captured the colorful images of the goddess statues and reviewed the symbolism of the magnificent scrolls created by Amy Peck, owner of the studio and my co-leader, along with Laurie Wood, of the Awaken Your Inner Goddess retreats. Since the full course I am creating will be available to those seeking certification for sex coaching worldwide, this weekend felt like I’d truly gone global. I realized I was speaking about my life’s work, now preserved on camera. It is my path is to inspire women to embrace their divine feminine nature and to support the growth of sacred partnership through my therapy practice. This filming experience felt like a public renewal of my commitment and in that moment of realization, I felt fulfilled from a very deep place within.
Perhaps this period of time is auspicious for you as well. Think about what you were doing the weekend of the 10th and 11th. And what you have planned for the Winter Solstice on the 21st. What intuitive insights you have been receiving, or powerful words you or someone else has spoken. What are the events happening for you during this time? There may be powerful meaning imbedded in any and all of what you see, hear, read, speak or do. Stay as fully present and conscious as possible and find the light within the darkness, just as the small white appears within the Yin segment of the Yin/Yang symbol.
